Premature ejaculation

Premature ejaculation occurs when someone ejaculates sooner than they want to during sex. This is a common sexual problem.

The cause is often unclear. It may be related to lack of sexual experience or to factors such as anxiety or depression. In some cases, it may be related to a medical problem. Or it may be a side effect of medicines.

Treatment may include counseling, behavior therapy, or in some cases, medicines that delay orgasm.
