The Health Plan Managed Workers' Compensation Program Invites Employers to Enroll
ST.CLAIRSVILLE, OH (April 25, 2014) - The Health Plan Managed Workers'
Compensation Program (MWCP), a workers' compensation managed care organization
(MCO), announces its participation in the Ohio Bureau of Workers'
Compensation (BWC) 2014 MCO open enrollment for the Health Partnership
Program (HPP). Introduced in 1997, the HPP was designed by the Ohio BWC
to improve the delivery of medical care for Ohio's injured workers
while reducing workers' compensation costs for employers.
All employers in Ohio are required by the Ohio BWC to designate an MCO
as part of their workers' compensation coverage. Once every two years,
employers if they are dissatisfied with their current service provider,
have an opportunity to select a different MCO. The 2014 open enrollment
period starts at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, April 28 and ends at 5:00 p.m. on Friday,
